133. Purple flower
MARCH 2007: Purple flower
In March 2007, I made various day trips to the urban parks in Belo Horizonte: Parque Municipal, Parque Mangabeiras, Parque Ecológico, and Jardim Zoológico/Botânico. My principal intention was to test the capabilities and impossibilities of my new compact camera. One day, I went to Jardim Botânico, the botanical garden that is located inside the ZOO, and situated at the margin of Pampulha Lake. I was there to photograph plants and flowers that were exhibited in thematic groups. Locally common flowers and plants, and plants from various Brazilian and foreign regions. I was also testing the possibilities of the zoom lens. I tried to focus on the stamens of a purple flower. It was not easy to have this part in clear focus, because the plant was moving on the rhythm of a light winter breeze. The final result demonstrated the harmonizing color combination of purple and yellow.
