FEBRUARY 2008: Observing waterbirds
The artificial Pampulha Lake in Belo Horizonte is one of the main tourist attractions in Belo Horizonte. Not only thanks to the architectural complex after the design by architect Oscar Niemeyer, but also thanks to its natural beauty. You’ll find a respectable number of plant species and various animal species. The lake with its jagged shape attracts thousands of birds. From small birds that fit in your hand to large birds of prey which you prefer to keep at a safe distance. In this picture, they appear to ignore each other’s presence. They also seem to ignore the presence of the man in the red shirt. And in turn, this man was not aware of my presence while I took this picture.
