Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia, and former capital of Brazil, is very popular among (foreign) tourists. Salvador hosts a large number of churches and sanctuaries. One sanctuary is ‘Senhor do Bonfim’, located outside the center. But tourists will gain colorful ribbons in the center of Salvador, usually fastened on the left wrist with three knots, by the local people on the streets. You may make your wishes at the time of receiving these ribbons . The ribbons need to be kept on the wrist until they fell off with time.
The original picture was taken in July 2007.
