OCTOBER 2006: Flowers
The zoo and botanical garden complex, located at Pampulha Lake, attracts a lot of visitors. Many young visitors enjoy themselves very much with the exotic animals, including elephants, lions, tigers and giraffes, and especially with the monkeys. Children don’t have much patience, when they notice that the animals are not to be seen in the cage: they shout and scream at the beasts, which are hiding themselves in their shelters. Cars and motorbikes are allowed in the park. At the other side of the main road is the botanical garden, with some greenhouses and a pond. The blooming flowers and plants attract mostly older visitors and photographers. During one of my visits to the botanical garden I found some flowers that had fallen on the tile floor. I arranged them in a circle and took a picture of this composition. It took only a little time, before other visitors arrived and openly wondered how this garland had been created.
